Contributions to Georgetown and Scott County by THE SCOTT COUNTY ART LEAGUE
- The Art League puts on the Art Show for the High School each year with prize money going to the students who receive First, Second or Third place ribbons in the different categories. In addition, the League provides scholarships to recognize talented children. The scholarship is a four-year commitment by the Art League to sponsor a graduating senior and a talented young artist who has enrolled in a college and has declared a major in art. The Scott County Art League has also sponsored Elementary School Art Shows, as well as other Art shows in the Community.
- Scott County Art League sponsors a monthly show at the Chamber of Commerce on Main Street. This Art is changed monthly to illustrate to new people in the community as well as long-time residents the variety and vitality of the Scott County Arts Community.
- The Annual “Invitational Regional Art Show” in October brings hundreds of tourists to Scott County. Over 1500 invitations are mailed each year. This brings business to restaurants, motels, and local shops.
- The Scott County Art League provides money to art teachers who request it in the city and county to buy much needed art supplies.
- The Scott County Art League teaches the gifted and talented at least eight times during the year.
- The Scott County Art League provides monthly meetings for the many artists in the community. They bring in artists from around the region to share with local artists various opportunities in the field of art.
- Art League Members volunteer each year for Cultural days at the Schools.
- Art League members volunteer to put on the Children’s summer Camp at Artworks.
- Art League members volunteer to run the Ceramics shop at Artworks for the Community.
- Art League members volunteer each year for the Snowmen project to help raise money for downtown. The Art League is involved in almost every art related project that goes on in this community and has contributed to the community since early 1975—more than a quarter of a century.
The Art League benefits from being a partner of ArtWorks. The partnership of ArtWorks allows all the different groups to work together to promote and provide quality arts programming to our community. We believe in our mission to connect our creative community.

I am happy to be serving the Scott County Art League as it’s 2007-2008 President. We are in the process of taking care of old business that has desperately needed tending to, as well as moving into some new directions with the addition of a Juried show as part of our Annual Regional Invitational Show in October.
If there is any way that we can serve you, please do not hesitate to call. 502.863.1206
